WHY GO: Margate is celebrating its centenary, and several great events have been planned! The Margate Centenary Cycle Challenge is one of the highlights for 2009, which also features the Toddlers Beach Tour. There are thousands of rands worth of lucky draw prizes up for grabs for taking part in the Challenge. The celebration will take place until June 2010. Other activities include: the Spring Parade; the Spring Break Beach Festival; the Soap Box Derby; the Centenary South Coast Choir Competition; a Mardi Gras; Margate Student Week; and much more!
